High Quality Marine Engine Valves offered at Shri Ram Engineers ensure the efficient operation of marine engines, particularly internal combustion engines used in ships and vessels. We custom design valve to match the exact specification of manufacturer for the aftermarket requirement. These valves regulate the flow of gases and liquids into and out of the engine’s cylinders, ensuring optimal engine performance, fuel efficiency, and environmental compliance.
A high-performing engine valve can help reduce maintenance costs, improve fuel economy, and enhance engine longevity, all of which are vital for marine vessels that operate in challenging conditions and over long distances.
Various features are offered on valve such as: Seat Stellite, Tip Stellite, Tip Hardening, Friction Welding, & Chrome Plating
Types of Engine Valves
Intake Valves
Intake valves are responsible for allowing the air-fuel mixture into the combustion chamber. The timing and pressure at which the intake valve opens and closes directly influence engine power and fuel efficiency.
Exhaust Valves
Exhaust valves expel the exhaust gases after combustion. Proper exhaust valve operation ensures that the engine can efficiently expel gases, maintain ideal pressure in the cylinders, and avoid backpressure that could negatively affect performance.
Materials Offered for Engine Valves
Marine engine valves are exposed to high temperatures, pressures, and corrosive marine environments. For these
reasons, they are constructed from durable and heat-resistant materials, such as:
- EN 52 : A high-quality valve steel known for its excellent hardness, wear
resistance, and ability to withstand high temperatures, making it ideal for use in engine valves and other
high-performance automotive and marine applications - 21-4N : An austenitic stainless valve steel offering excellent
high-temperature strength, corrosion resistance, and resistance to oxidation, making it especially suitable for
exhaust valves in high-performance automotive and marine engines - Nimonic 80A : A nickel-chromium super alloy valve material with outstanding
high-temperature strength, creep resistance, and oxidation resistance, making it ideal for exhaust valves in
demanding marine and high-performance engine applications.
The choice of material depends on the engine’s application, operating conditions, and required performance characteristics.
